COMMISSIONING

Our clients have access to superior knowledge gained from national and international experience in the biosafety industry.

World BioHazTec has been hired professionally by the US government to consult on influential guidelines thereby demonstrating our subject matter experts' competency in understanding the application of these standards for commissioning.

Since our founding, our team has performed commissioning and annual certification surveys encompassing visual inspection, document review and testing of directional airflow for government compliance and risk reduction purposes. This invaluable experience is World BioHazTec's substantive offering.

Commissioning

World BioHazTec applies a collaborative approach to ensure the facility performs according to the intent of the design. The commissioning served as a thorough QAQC evaluation of all critical components of the laboratory biosafety and biocontainment oversight systems in place at all levels. Talented professionals assembled by World BioHazTec partner with you and collaborate with other contracting partners to support the commissioning. As part of our work plan, our subject matter experts participate in the design phase so that anticipated problems that would interfere with the successful commissioning are identified early. This approach has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations including Wright Patterson Air Force Base, University of Washington, National Institutes of Health, University of Texas at El Paso and Iowa State University.

WORLD BIOHAZTEC

Commissioning

World BioHazTec serves as a subject matter expert and commissioning agent for the facility. We work with key stakeholders to discuss potential design problems and inform the team members of World BioHazTec's proven commissioning approach. Our professionals apply their design experience to recommend solutions so that additional funds are not expended during the construction, testing and commissioning phases to rectify these problems. To obtain total facility performance, we act as an integrated consultant in the design of your facility. Our team consults to achieve an optimum design that meets the objectives of the facility (i.e. planned research) and ensures it will operate safely and securely. We consider safety, accessibility and research goals when planning and programming the facility. Critical support areas, equipment, instrumentation, furniture, workflow and building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security) are evaluated so that a safe and practical layout is achieved.

World BioHazTec prepares a commissioning plan that is customized for your project. A list of tests are designed by World BioHazTec which simulates different building system failure/recovery scenarios. During the construction phase, our professionals visit the site to identify potential maintenance constraints and continuous improvement opportunities. World BioHazTec evaluates the installation and operation of the system components for the laboratory and compares each component’s capacity against the design specifications. We also inspect the physical work to ensure that the architectural features and equipment (e.g. walls, doors, flooring) meet the guidelines and regulations.

During the commissioning phase, our professionals perform functional performance tests and integrated systems functional performance tests. The failure scenarios that World BioHazTec conducts test building system reliability to ensure that redundancy is provided and is operational. Following completion of the commissioning testing, all information is gathered into the Commissioning Report.
