The Challenge

As ThirdLaw Molecular continued to push the boundaries of scientific discovery, they embarked on the renovation of their chemistry laboratory to support BSL-2 work. This upgrade would allow them to handle more sensitive biological materials and pathogens. While they had already made progress by developing a comprehensive Biosafety Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the next critical step was to ensure that their staff was well-trained in safe and effective BSL-2 laboratory practices. This included not only laboratory safety protocols but also chemical safety for those working with hazardous substances.

The Solution

To ensure ThirdLaw’s team was well-prepared for work in the BSL-2 laboratory, ThirdLaw partnered with World BioHazTec to provide specialized training. Upon finalizing the Biosafety Manual and SOPs, World BioHazTec designed and delivered a half-day training session. The course covered essential resources and regulations, such as OSHA guidelines, best practices in laboratory safety, and a detailed understanding of the risks and prevention of laboratory-acquired infections.

The Result

World BioHazTec delivered an interactive and thorough training experience, ensuring that ThirdLaw’s laboratory team was equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate safely in the BSL-2 environment. Following the training, participants completed a detailed instructor and course assessment. Each individual who completed the full course received a certificate of completion, affirming their readiness to safely conduct work in the upgraded laboratory.
